Jordy & DC Ice
#1
Drove up Heber way to check on Jordanelle & Deer Creek ice making machines. Hailstone ramp plowed all the way down center. A first. Not as much snow as I'd anticipated. Drilled some test holes on my way to the bay NW and settled over 50' of water. 4+inches of solid ice with a nice 1" white blanket atop. Really didn't plan on fishing more than 15-20 minutes, so just took bare essentials. Yanked 4" perchlettes on every drop, with the fish growing to 7" on last one. Some sage brush down there, as I snagged up once. No signs of life other than one coyote making the hard-deck trek from east to west, and three gal$ from Texa$ here doing some $kiing. Nice accent$. Deer Creek was another story. Ice from the Island north, but that's it. Rainbow Bay wants to freeze, but only capped out from the north shore and not ther south shore moreso in the shade. Go fugure. No coyotes or skiers there.

Thanks for posting your report and ice conditions, did you see anyone else out there fishing?

Not a soul at Jord. One guy on the Island at DC. Gonna return to that bay at Jord 'cuz I think I can move around & score some keeper perch there. Plus, it's close to Holladay and you can't beat the pkg at the bottom of the ramp.

Not only that but there are some nice browns in that lake, so that would be nice to catch as well.[Smile]
