Pelican lake today 1/15
#1
Well I took my friend with me weekend before and had some steady fishing. but

Today I made the long trip down and got on the ice about 10:30am and it was pretty much Non Stop action up until I got of the ice at 4pm.

I have a second pole permit and alot of the time I couldnt use it as the fish were hitting both poles. I caught all of them on my custom panfish/ trout baits. Heres some of my catch today. It was my best day ever on pelican lake for bass ice fishing.
I ended up with 38bass and 55 bluegills[cool]
the bluegills were 5" to 9" and the bass the smallest were 10" alot were 12" to 14" I did manage some that went 15" All fish were released for another anglers lunch or to be caught another day.
Heres some of my catch from today
this was a double on one pole a bass and gill and one gill on the other pole at the same time.

Thanks for taking the time to take pictures and then sharing with us. It looks like a lot of fun! My kids and I enjoy pan fishing and I will show my kids your pics tomorrow.

I have been wanting to fish Pelican for years. I am considering taking a trip in 2 weeks with my kids. Are there any services nearby? Store, hotel/motel, gas station, bathrooms, etc?

Thanks again for the report.

Hey SaltH20Fish, I always come over the mountain and threw Vernal to get to pelican lake. Around on the south side of the lake is a restroom by the boat ramp and on the north east side of the lake theres a small Cafe. I have never stopped in there so cant tell you how the food is I have heard that they have a little bit of fishing tackle.

If I remember right its about 20 miles from Pelican lake back to Vernal. There are alot of motels, Walmart, home depot.
For eating theres McDonalds, Wendys, KFC, A&W, Dickeys BBQ and more. I usually stop at Maverik to get some gas on the way back home. theres other gas stations to.

I usually stay at the Best Western Antlers motel when I stay over night. It costs a little more per night but Its a very clean motel everytime I have stayed there for the past 18 yrs and the staff are always nice and helpful to. Good luck if you get down there if you have any other questions feel free to send me a PM and I will help you out[Image: water13.gif]

There is one little cafe, Pelican Lake Cafe, and an unmanned gas station nearby. There is a toilet at the BLM boat ramp on the SW side. The nearest hotel/motel, stores etc. are in either Roosevelt or Vernal which are about 20 miles away NW and NE of pelican respectively.
