Went out to Lindon yesterday for a few hours. It was a beautifal day, sunny and no wind. Fished with a bait bug tiped with a piece of worm. caught about a dozen tiny white bass no more than 6" in length and 6 or 7 panfish. I think they where crappie. They had a flat profile with spots on the sides. The largest was about 9" in length
Spoke to the owner and he says that in another week or 2 the largers guys should move in and the fishing will be awesome. The harbour is filling up since the pumps have been turned off on the river (planting season is over!). The water level has risen a good six inches this week and he says that we need about another foot or so in the harbour.
The gulls are feeding heavily on the tiny whites. They can be seen divebombing them out in the lake and right before I left a large scholl of little guys swam into the harbour with the gulls tight on their heels.
Can't wait for the big boys to come out and play! [cool]

I fished lindon last year and the aciton was nonstop! I fished the 17th and the 24th. All you needed was a white jig and the action never ceased. If you put on some worm, you caught perch. I also caught walleye, which I never seem to be able to do in the summer. I plan on being down there as well, those white bass are tasty, and there are a ton of em'. Was there any bushes around the docks? Last year, the bushes were the ticket, fish them, and you caught fish. Probably the best fishing I had all year. Thanks for the report, havent caught a fish in 23 days, and I'm on the verge of going crazy.

No brush around the docks but that can be easily remedied! Next time I'm up there I'll see if I can throw some in, you can do the same. Scratch that, there where some on the left side of the docks (the odd # side) but no fish there at all. I was standing on the #4 and catching the little guys.

Okay, I'll give up one of my "secrets" on Lindon. I float tubed it several times with my sonar. The deepest part of the marina is along the north dike. This next part is kinda hard to explain, but I'll do my best. There is a submerged tree that extends out perpendicular to the north dike (I didn't need the fishfinder to find it, during the shallow water my fins kept hitting it, scared me to death until I figured out what it was). Walk along the north side until you hit the "trees" and then drop straight down from there and start fishing.
Many of you may have already known about the tree, but, for those of you that didn't . . . Just catch a few for me the next time you go!
See you on the water!

Had I not been on my pontoon, I would have donated more than I wanted to. I did really well in that area last winter. I didn't catch as many whities as some of the others, but they were bigger, 10-13" range.

The North dike? Just checking to see if I got it right. Enter Lindon and turn right pass the pond and the docks. If you walk it it takes you straight to the harbor entrance and the lake, correct? Didn't try there at all.
Thanks

Does anyone know if they still charge you to go in the Lindon marina at this time of year?

Thats the spot! I fish the marina side of the dike. The sun warms that (marina) side during the winter time to boot. The most productive sections in my experience are from the northeast corner of the marina to the end of the trees/shrubs on the dike itself.

2 bucks to go in. When I went the gate was closed so I walking in and found a guy working in a trailer. He advised me to put 2 bucks in the envelope and later the owner came buy to chat. Says he keeps the gate closed this time of the year but it's alright to enter as long as you close the gate behind you and put 2 bucks in the hopper.
