Don't know if everyone else is seeing the rapid deteriation of the ice like the Cutler / Bear River has experienced this weekend, but watch out, everything out here is opening up already. Especially where ever there is current. Soon be back to soft water angling. Get your ice time in while you can not long left. Later J

Been surprised to see the thermo-at a 40 mark, and wet thaw all around. But think some of that ice, back sloughs and such - should be thick for a while yet.

Had a notion to try a corner of river - back eddy- you and your walleye hunt . . . but wonder now - if it's starting to loose up.

I did hit the Little Bear, Logan, and Blacksmith recently - just messing around, but wanted to touch some moving water. Bears not there yet, unless it's opened more that I realize. Might be time for some early ice-off-Crappie jigging!!!!

The river by the church is open and flowing now. It's also opening around the marina and several other spots on sloughs are open too. I was surprised how fast it happened. I guess this shallow water freezes fast and opens early. Seems like a short season of ice but its been a good one this year. Did you see the kitties were biting yesterday? Wow - how quickly it turns. I just look at that river bend last week, and it was still ice solid.

Hmm- Crappie Craaaapeeeeee. Might be time for dipping round the wood piles again! Early ice off can be hot times.

Time for the master to teach me how to catch those crappie consistently. I catch a few but not like you do I need to tag along and see if something will rub off. Catch ya later. J
