New to Kentucky

Hi everyone. I've moved to western Kentucky from the west coast and didn't bring fishing gear with me. I like to fish for crappie, bass and catfish mostly but I'm open to anything. If you were going to buy new fishing gear (mostly for bank fishing) what would you put in your tackle box and what line would you use? Thanks for your help!

your in luck, the ohio river, kentucky lake, barkley lake, and mississippi river along with most small creeks in your area will supply you with much catfish action.

I dont know if noodleing is prohibited in KY [:p]
