Some thoughts of my own
#1
[font "Comic Sans MS"][#800000]It never ceases to amaze me that folks with no formal training or extensive knowledge of a subject will still offer advice contrary to the advice given by people who DO have the formal training AND extensive knowledge of the subject matter at hand. The state employed experts who have degrees in wildlife management and species specific biology and have built case files that include relevant studies that support their decisions are held up to ridicule by the general population who have no real background in fisheries management and control other than they fish a lot. (There are actually a couple of you out there that this general statement doesn’t apply to and you know who you are.) I wasn’t at the Walleye Seminar, but from what has been reported here, the state pretty much successfully made their case FOR opening up the Willard Bay inlet channel and a couple of our members have stated they agreed with the decision after hearing the FACTS behind the decision. [crazy]

It doesn’t matter one whit to most of the members voicing opinions here that the FACTS support the decision, their attitude is still ‘I don’t like it; therefore it’s a bad decision and should be reversed immediately. Don’t even THINK about confusing me with FACTS; my mind is made up.’ [mad]

Well, I have some advice of my own. Stop leading with your emotions and start leading with your intelligence. Do some research. Find out what the facts are both pro AND con. Do some analysis and form an EDUCATED opinion. Keep your emotions in the bedroom where they belong. Fishing is a way to important function in life to let it be controlled by emotions. [fishin]

Now if my words have offended your sensibilities, I have a famous quote for you from Gone With The Wind; "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." [Wink]
