Spring is in the air, ice is melting and the carp are into the fishy-lambada. Hit a minnow hole I found last spring, and well - the minnows aren't there, but the mamas and the pappas are - well, "bussaaaaY".

I know folks don't like snagging on the Eye's, but hopefully I'll be forgiven for a few stray hooks and runs. Goofy me - hit 'em with an ice rod! Fun till the toad takes a run for the tube! Hooked up several, foul, and lipped - but no grippers, nets, or grabbers - was ill equipped!
But I will warn for the need of eyeware! Sun, safety, whatever. Had a phattie dragged up on a rock - when PING went the jig - bounced off my eyelid - with the "oh sheez - glad it came weight first!" Stupid is as . . .

Guess it'll be a few weeks for the fresh minnows to take hold. Meanwhile - the 25-30" parents are on a "spring cruise". Easy pickens for a bow-handler. Small puddle, lots of flow - they weren't even distracted.

Hit a few more stops, and played with my first spring bass, crappie, and - yeah, more frisky browns.
I'm about ready to see if I can't find some spring Walleye, or Kitties floating the river!

No more snow, no more snow, no more snow!!!

Sounds like a good start up for a tubing trip. Let's hope next weekend weather will play in favor for my camping trip [laugh]

Eye ware and sun screen. I had a terrible farmers tan from my last jr trip and it was pretty ugly. Trust me.[crazy]

Sounds like the river and marsh are waking up. Too bad the weather has to go and take a turn just as things get going. Any size to the bass? I've been eying the sloughs on the way to work. They're looking pretty enticing.
