Need suggestions on where to launch
#1
We are a couple of newbies to boating/launching and wondered where near Salt Lake County, Davis, even Utah co has launches less steep/slippery than others. And best time to go to avoid a crowd. I'd like to avoid being one of those guys, especially with an audience[laugh]

thanks

For now you got 2 spots only that is open water in close distance and that would be utah lake or deer creek. Your other options are drive all the way down south ha ha ha.

Best time to avoid a crowd idk [Tongue] weekdays I think ha ha ha ha ha. The best time too be with the crowd is Saturday. [laugh]

The season just started and I know the fun shall start soon [cool].

Don't forget to register your boat or those nasty cops will slap a big sticker on your forehead.[pirate]

Places to definitely avoid:

Jordanelle
American Fork Boat Harbor
Strawberry Marina (not nearly as bad as the other two, but can be crowded) If you want to fish Strawberry go to any of the other boat ramps (especially the ones on the Soldier Creek side)
Rockport, Deer Creek or East Canyon on busy days

To avoid most of the crowds avoid Saturday, Fridays and Sundays (probably in that order).

Because the Utah Lake State Park has so many boat ramps, it is rarely super crowded.

Thanks Kent, that was exactly the info I was looking for regarding the places to avoid. I've seen the Do's and Don'ts elsewhere online, but good to read again.
