One other quick comment. As we came home from Ellis, Mackay is about a third thawed, maybe less, but there were guys getting boats on up by the outhouse up towards the inlet and setting up fishing near the ices edge! WELL, WELL, WELL!

Yesterday the ice was down to the Battleground Cemetery and looked thin.
Several years ago I went by in the morning and the ice was about there and all the way to the dam. A front came through and that afternoon when I came back, all the ice had blown to the upper end and had shoved 20 feet up the bank on the far side in huge chunks. I wouldn't want to be dodging that mess in a boat.
