No - I'm not putting down some young angler, or talking about snaggers. I scanned an article on Dip-Baits, throught I'd share. Sorry - some of the scan is tough to read, light on dark...
I haven't really done much with dips and doughs. Wonder if anyone has any luck catching kitties on such offers. I've usually a worms and shrimp kinda guy myself. But wouldn't mind something I could keep at the ready w/o refrigeration required. Forgetting those live baits in a warm car - really kills!

[cool][#0000FF]I've tried just about every kind of dough bait and dipbait ever invented for catkind. Some work well in waters that are murky and mud bottomed. But those same baits do not seem to work nearly as well in clearer waters where the cats are predominantly sight feeders...or at least feed more on natural baits.
Almost all offerings will catch something...sometime. But I have always operated by the philosophy that you will generally do better by offering what the fish are targeting as a main food supply. That is especially true for the bigger fish in any body of water.
That being said, there are a lot of Utah diehards that have their own favorite stink baits and swear by them. The rest of us just swear at them.
And by the way, some of those dipbaits are nasty. They could qualify for hazardous waste. You need to wear a hazmat suit while using it and burn that suit before you go in your house after a cattin' trip.

[cool][#0000FF]I'm sure it will work. But I still prefer minnows or meat.
Might be good with milk and sugar...and maybe some berries on top.
