Hello I am new to the forum and I looked on here for general fishing reports and been very pleased with all the info everyone is willing to share I am going to American Falls dam next month to fish the river there always wanted to go and now just trying to get some general info I love bass fishing and herd the was decent fishing there for bass but I will also fish for anything so all info will be greatly appreciated thanks to all and hope to share some of my knowledge with everyone

Welcome to BFT. The bass fishing below the dam on the river can be good in May, but it is not easy. Wait until the water temps are over 46 and closer to 50. We catch a few big ones but not much for numbers in May.

thanks to all for the great welcome and the good info sounds like I need to prolong the trip until first part of june and thanks for the barbless hook info I did not know that it was that way tell memorial day looks like I will stick around here in Idaho falls for may I have fished all over from lerenzo up river on the snake but looking to expand my area of fishing towards blackfoot area any suggestions
