Im new to the white bass scene and I was wondering if anyone had any pointers (locations, water temps ect)
I primarily fish Utah Lake and would like to hook me a few for my upcoming catfish outings. And if big enough keep a few for dinner. I have been fishing the Saratoga Springs area with no success yet (only because its close. Id be willing to try new farther places. I was thinking about khunis ditch or provo bay. Any ideas? Thanks

wait 2 weeks then you can fish almost any rocky point or anyplace water flows into the lake. Tube jigs, mepps spinners and small spoons will all catch them. Usually they are running by the 3rd week of may.

You'll catch them at Saratoga. I've caught plenty of 'em at Pelican Harbor. I think the reason for no success is because the water is not yet warm enough. Fortunately, for you and me, the water temp should be going up here VERY soon. This weekend's forecast will boost that real quick and that means fish on for most species!
Sure you can waste a lil time and gas and go to Provo, Lincoln, Lindon, or American Fork! But you won't need to unless you want to explore and try some place different.
I plan on going to American Fork or Pelican again on Mon or Tues after the weekend rush of power boats and fishermen. I like it quiet, calm, and not have to deal with rude/disrespectful others who feel that they own the place! Happy Fishing starts next week!

I was catching them in the past with small white and blue tubes jigs cast into the shallows and swam back to me.

Nice! I'm excited to see things start to pick up a bit. I like fishing the outlet at Saratoga so I'm glad to hear they head that way too.

Try the Jordan river you can catch white bass there right now. You live near the pumphouse so that's a place I would definitely checkout. Worms or a bright colored jig work great in that spot! I don't use a Bobber or any float device just rawdog it ya know! You can catch the occasional walleye there too fishing off the rocks!
