schofield ice
#1
According to Doug Miller last night Schofield froze over last thursday and should be fishable by Thanks Giving. I know where I'll be spending Fish Giving this year. It has been a tradition for us for the last few years to ice fish schofield during the Thanks Giving holidays. Looks like we can keep the tradition going this year as well.

Scofield is frooze over. However, the ice was only about an inch thick by the shore and gets even thinner only a few feet out. Should be fishable really soon!

Don't count on good ice up there soon. It got up to about 35* highs yesterday, and it'll only get warmer. The 6 inches of snow we were hunting elk in was down to 3 by noon. I bet pineview or utah lake will have safer ice by T-day. It was about 3/4 of an inch, with open spots all over. There was also a HUGE open spot north of the island. I wouldn't think It'll be safe till mid december.

When were you there last? I was there on Sat. and it looked completely covered. Maybe I'm missing something or didn't see the area you are talking about. There was a good solid inch or so around the shore and you could see snow snakes on the ice in the middle of the lake. I hope it wasn't my imagination.[Wink] The elevation at pineview is like 4850 and Scofield is somewhere around 7600. I'd bet scofield is fishable first, as it is already froze over. Just my humble opinion.[Smile]

It warmed up quite a bit on Sunday. Usually, the little electronic thermomiter in my dad's truck is right. It was open big time, though. It might be fishable over by the dam, but I seriously doubt it.
