Holmes Creek Res. 7/6/13 +SURPRISE

Decided on a quick close to home trip with my little brother yesterday. Caught tons of little gills and alot of little 10-12 in LMB nothing huge but the kicker that im still scraching my head over is the two 7" perch I pulled in while fishing for gills. Ive been fishing this body of water for quite a few years and never caught a perch. Caught LMB gills crappie trout and carp but never a perch nor does the proc list them. were they planted by some dumbo just for fun? What kind of an impact would perch have on a smaller body of water like this?

I actually did catch one during the ice season there this year too about the 7 inch range. I only caught that one perch but it surprised me as well.

What were you using if you don't mind me asking? I might be heading there next weekend since I have to move this week.

bass were all on spinners and senkos the gills and perch came on mosquito pattern flys.
