Invite to go Sturgeon fishing
#1
My cousin (a sturgeon newbie) and I have a sturgeon trip planned and there is room for one more to join us.

We will leave the SLC area [#0000BF]deleted by kentofnsl[/#0000BF].

We share all common expenses (fuel, motel, bait) and this can run around $200 each and the individual will need to purchase an Idaho non-resident 3-day license for $24.75 and purchase a 2-pole permit for $15.50 (this is optional). The individual is also responsible for the cost of their own food and drink.

I have all of the tackle necessary and I will gladly loan it, with the understanding that if it is lost or broken the individual agrees to pay for the cost to replace it.

Catching is never guaranteed; however, the likelihood of catching several sturgeon is high. Link to our last sturgeon trip.

If interested send me a PM.

I love seeing your sturgen invites Kent because I know that there is sure to be an exciting report soon to follow.

I just wish someone in your group would bring some videos back along with the pictures. That would be awsome to see.

We have posted a few over the years. I don't really have the right equipment to do it. We need you to come along and be our photographer.

Ya know what Kent, I won't go this trip but that is a suggestion that I will SERIOUSLY consider for one of your future expeditions.

Hey Ralph,

I did post both pictures and videos from our last trip http://www.bigfishtackle.com/cgi-bin/gforum/gforum.cgi?post=831102#831102

We don't take lots of photos because they are difficult to get good ones. When you have fish over 7 ft, it is not easy to get them and the angler in the picture.

I also live and learn regarding the videos. There is often a lot going on when someone first hooks up. Have to reel in five other setups and think about what to do with at least one, and sometimes two anchors. Get other stuff out of the way as well. So it is usually not feasible or easy to take video at the beginning because we are getting stuff out of the way. And most of the fish on our last trip did not jump so there was nothing to video for most of the fish caught except for the end, which I did get. Hopefully I'll get some better video on upcoming trips.

The GoPro HD systems are pretty nice and resilient. Even can buy an accessory to mount it like a headlamp.

I have the head strap and I also made a hat attachment, but try wearing those for three days straight in very hot weather and you'll get an idea of why I didn't take too many videos. It is also not easy to put on after you already have a sturgeon hooked up, but I did it on occasion. They also have a chest strap which might be more convenient.

Yeah I haven't personally used one, didn't consider the head fatigue of wearing one for so long.

Wow, somehow I missed those two videos. I guess I was reading your post at work where videos are pretty much blocked. They are interesting to watch. Thanks.
