Rockport Advice

Planned a trip to Rockport for a couple months now. On the way up today my trailer had a short and nearly started on fire. What a way to start vacation. Anyway, I wanted to see if anyone had some advice on Rockport. I have never been here before and couldn't pull both the trailer and the boat so I will be fishing from shore. I would gladly catch some bass or perch anyone has some thoughts where they may be found. Staying down in the campground near the dam. Any help would be appreciated.

I had success near the dam throwing Dynamic Lures and gold Jakes. Don't pass up the river either, there's some nice browns in there.

I have fairly good luck with a worm under a bobber for bass by just throwing next to the shore line from 5 to 10 feet out.

My advice would be to keep on driving until you get to Strawberry, Deer Creek, or Jordanelle.
