Have the fall red salmon started up the strawberry river yet. I want to take my 3 year old grandson for a ride sat , and I thought that would be a fun trip for him , along with some crawdads and an attempt at fishing the lake. (he will lose interest real quick on the shore fishing, but hopefully we will find a good crawdad hole)

We noticed the first few reds in there about two weeks ago. I'm sure they are loaded now. It's definitely worth going for a drive to see them! oh, the crawdads are still a plenty also! Have fun!

Hey because I am kind of a strawberry first timer, and I would like to see the salmon, could you please give me a few directions on where to see the fish? I have heard the visitors center, but I'm not positive where that is at. Thanks.

If you are coming from Heber city the visitors center and viewing area are on the right just as your getting to the lake. Can't miss it. I believe their is a sign on the hyway.

Lonnie is right. If you take highway 40 out of heber headed to the south you will travel over what is called Daniels summit. There is a big lodge at the top with atv and snowmobile rentals and horse rides. Keep going past that about 5 miles (give or take) and you will see a turn off for strawberry bay marina on the right. If you go on the weekend there is usually a guy with a trailer selling jerky. Turn there and the visitor center is immediately on your right. They have a walking path that follows the river and leads you up to the salmon traps. It's definitely worth the time to see the kokes! If you need anymore info, I'd be happy to help!
