Salem Pond ice?

I drove by Salem pond yesterday and noticed it had ice on it does anyone know if it is thick enough to fish on?

If memory serves me correctly, it's illegal to fish on… regardless of whether it is safe or not.

Yeah, it's very much illegal to ice-fish on Salem pond.

The pond is also covered with floating lighted travesties that are designed to do nothing in this world but interfere with my late fall and early spring fishing. Or something to do with Christmas, but I think it's the former. According to a couple of old-timers I've talked to around town, there are a couple of springs underwater that keep the ice thin in many spots that you wouldn't expect.
