Pineview Ice?
#1
Has anyone checked conditions at pineview lately? My brother was supposed to check it today but didn't get a chance. We were hoping to get up there tomorrow morning.

I stopped by the narrows around noon yesterday. The ice is still kinda inconsistent. Some spots it's 3" and other spots it 5-6". There's a crusty top layer that's about 3" thick. Just be cautious, make sure your life insurance is paid up and you'll be OK... I couldn't tell ya about the rest of the lake.

I punched probably 20 holes all the way across the narrows about 40 yds east of the buoys and run-n-gunned all of them for about 2 hours. I seriously marked two fish on the sonar, both were probably small perch and wanted nothing to do with my treats. They quickly passed through and were gone in five seconds.

The Vex painted an ugly picture yesterday, so I just left. I'll try to find em some other time.

So what is it? 5" everywhere or incostintent like 2 1/2" in spots up to 6 in others? Did 20' make all the difference between safe ice and shitty scary ice? be careful what you post on here you might get someone killed.

I don't see how that could get someone killed. He told everyone to be careful, so how could he get someone killed? Everywhere we checked was 5" of ice in the narrows, but other reports stated spots of 2 1/2" of ice. Just be careful!

I think you have to be careful regardless of how thick they say the ice is at any lake. we are only a few weeks into the season so you never know certain spots froze over others.
