To hose who have done both at the gorge

If you are driving from the west would you choose to fish the lost dog area of the gorge?
Or wold it be better to drive on around to the fire hole?
Which one is better fishing.

I would choose fire hole over any other spot personally. I love that spot. Can't wait to get up there some weekend

10x better mac fishing at lost dog.
10x better rainbow fishing at lost dog.
Burbot it fishing is slightly better at firehole.

There is only one reason to go to firehole; no ice anywhere else on the gorge.

thanks for the replies, it sounds like lost dog is the place to try.
One of my home teaching families had their oldest son pass away just one day after his first son was born and the funeral is Friday. so I will need to change my plans and come later or another time.
these good people are a lot more important to me than a fishing trip. later teetop
