Has anybody driven past mantua this morning. I am getting off work early today and want to go up there but I'm not sure of the road conditions. Also looking for someone to give me advice on where to fish and possibly fish with if anybody is interested, please pm me.

Can't advise on conditions today (road or ice) but up until yesterday afternoon, all the action was taking place from the middle of the south dike towards the knoll. Very few anglers were fishing near the dam - a sign that no catching is going on there. Trout were in six feet of water, perch in nine-ten feet. Ice was a solid six inches except near the inlet, which is open water. The absence of old holes beyond a certain line tells you where not to go.
The hot bite has been on white jigs with a waxie. I got solid hits with Gulp products alone, but they were better with a gulp item plus a waxie. Gulp maggots in chartreuse were hot Wednesday. On Sunday, it was the Gulp 1" minnow. Go figure.

I live just down the canyon from Mantua and road are still terrible down here. The canyon itself may be OK, but I wouldn't advise the trip unless it clears up significantly this afternoon.
