Good fishing spots on Scofield or Mantua?
#1
Mom is sick so we arn't doing much so my family let me loose too do what ever I want on the 25th. I'm going to be heading too Mantua that I have never touched or Scofield that I haven't fished in 4-6 years. Just curious where are some good spots. If no one is joining with me might get some info where too hit actually. I heard that scofield dam does pretty well but that's about it.

Pictures of maps would be helpful. PM me or just slap it on here.

Thanks for any info Smile

Looking at the map, enter the ice where it shows parking at the bottom, by the inlet.
Walk to the North for about 100 yards and pick a spot.
Look for water that is at least 10' deep.
Fish the very bottom for Perch and Bluegill. Fish suspended for better Trout action.

They apparently don't enforce the No Parking on the south dike during winter - I counted 51 trucks there on Sunday and half that many Wednesday. Join the crowd.

Ice is handy because you can see where everybody's been fishing before you. Find a cluster of holes and you're there. (And if you find a hole with blood around it....)

We Fished the Dam arm on Wednesday early in the morning and got one bite, we then relocated to the east side straight across from the Grey and White house and was catching 8 to 12 inch Cutts nonstop. Heard a couple guys hooting and hollering from the west side so we thought we would give that a shot to maybe get into some bigger fish but once again it was all Cutts in the 10 to 14 inch range, my son caught 2 in the slot but that was it.
We were fishing in 10 to 14 feet of water green ice flies seemed to be working best tipped with night crawler, we would hit bottom then come up 1 to 2 reels. Ice was 12 inches thick in spots with no less than 10 inches, we rode the 4 wheelers pulling sleds all the way through the middle of the lake to the other side.

I went out to mantua with a group of friends last sunday. We parked along the south dike and walked out about halfway down where we could access the ice. Walked about 250-300 yards north east towards the inlet and warmer water fishing in about 8 feet of water. Caught 8 rainbows and one lm bass about 3 feet off the bottom with jigs tipped with meal worms and with powerbait suspended off the bottom,
