Saying it was windy would be an understatement. We didn't want to hassle with a shelter so looking for perch was out. Anything less than a 1/4 oz and the wind was bowing your line. So we focused on rainbows. Started out in 40s and nothing was happening. I decided to move shallow in the 20ft range and there they were. We reset everything shallow and ended up with 11 bows and had just about as many come off on the way up in three hours. The fish were not exactly slamming our baits very light bite. Paddlebugs, rattlespoons and Ratsos tipped with crawler or waxies all worked. The bows were coming thru in the 14ft range. I even located a school of perch and spent a half hour trying to get a bite. I tried everything and had no problem getting fish to take a look but only had two light taps.
We fished east of the main boat ramp. I had similar results for rainbows last Sat south of the bridge in about 20 to 25 ft depths.
