Braved the snow storm today & headed up to Currant Creek. Arrived at the reservoir around 8:30 a.m. I was surprised to see the ice was only 5-inches thick. Fishing was very slow - ended up catching 6 fish (5 cutts & 1 rainbow). The average size was 15 to 16 inches in length. Fished 9 to 15 feet of water.
Marked a lot of fish moving through, the problem was they were just moving through and not feeding. Decided to drop the camera down the hole to see what was going on. Sure enough the fish were just swimming through and not showing any interest in our baits. Today was disappointing, Currant Creek has fished very well for me in the past.
Snowed most of the morning, Started snowing hard around noon & we decided to get out while we could.
The road to the dam was in great shape first thing; However, became snow covered when we left. Not sure what todays storm will do to the access?
Did not pay much attention to what was going on, I think there were 2 other groups fishing - very light pressure.
