Pineview - Friday
#1
Minus 4 at 7:30am start. Good thing no fog or wind. Also good thing buddy came by and drilled 3 holes for us, as auger that ran like a top yesterday wouldn't go. Put in on N side of Cem Pt, straight out from pkg lot gate, over 28'. Few small crappie right off the bat, with a few perch sprinkled in. Then it was all perch, off & on, from mid-morn until 1pm quittin' time. Just like other recent PV posts, you gotta wait out the perch & yank 'em when you can. Tried out deeper at 31', but a tad slower. Bucketed 50-some keepers, tho had as many bites and lost-on-the-way-up fish. Pretty good "thunk" bites compared to what we've experienced this season. Got 'em on waxies below Halis & Pilkies, tho best #s came off old-school Foxee Jig (forerunner of today's Gizzy Bug), 1/64th oz, tipped w/eyeball. Not as many S-siders today as n-siders. Plenty of snow & ice & cold overnite temps to keep Slush Monster at bay.

I went up today also but tried the south side. No crappie but a few perch in 25 feet of water. Best bites came on perch meat. Pretty nice sized perch for the view. most between 7 1/2 and 9 and even got 1 just under 10 inches
