Wasn't going to bother with yet another Yuba post but changed my mind when our son hooked into a 40 incher. We had walked out of Painted Rock and didn't see much action for the time that we were there. He was using a jigging spoon with a piece of perch meat. Had to get his arm wet helping to get the head up into the hole. Now if we could figure out how to get Papa to catch a pike we could cross them off all of our bucket lists. I tried to video the battle but it was really jumpy.

Just curious, was he fishing on the bottom or suspend, jigging or dead stick? Thanks

The fish came through right on the bottom . We were in 18 feet of water. He was jigging quite aggressively and the fish really hit the jig. We had a lot of carp come thru up high, we mamaged to catch a couple of them; good bait.
