Lodging at Fish lake?
#1
Has anybody stayed at the cabins down there? Are they nice? Pricey? Better to stay at the nearest town?

Haven't been there since I was 8 years old. The only thing I could remember was that it was so cold outside it made the night miserable. Cant remember what cabin I even stayed in.

Here are the list for prices.

The cabins are usually pretty pricey for what they are. They are called 'Rustic' for a reason. Last time I went down I stayed at the Snuggle Inn in Loa. It was clean and comfortable and only set me back $60. I think the cabins are usually over $100. Loa is a 25 minute drive though. I'm going again Saturday night and staying in Loa again.

Going this weekend. We are staying at the lodge cabins. Pretty pricey, I will post my results on Monday. If you are looking for cheap, Loa is your best bet. Koosharem is another close town. I have never been to fish lake in the winter, I hope the cabin is warm. Lol

Spent last weekend at Fish Lake. The cabins are cheap, clean and stocked o.k. They're a short walk to the lake and the fishing is pretty good. As far as food or anything is concerned, if you don't bring it, you can't get it. It's a long way from anything but that's kind of the point of going isn't it?

Could you be more specific with your definition of "cheap"?

I have stayed at the rustic cabins and also The Snuggle Inn in Loa. We could hear mice running around all night in the cabins, otherwise they were fine. The Snuggle Inn is nice, especially for the amount that they charge. Don't plan on arriving in the later evening at Loa and stopping at the local fast food restaurant. They all close quite early.

Ha just like every town down there, it all shuts down by 7pm. You can find rural in the city but you can't find city in the rural!

Is there any heat in those cabins?

Yes, they have heat and I think all of them have a bathroom.

Eight man cabin was 400.00 for the weekend. They supplied all the firewood you could burn along with electric heat. They also supplied pots, pans, plates, cups ,glasses, coffee pot, toaster, and microwave oven. Granted it was all cheap stuff but what do you really need for a weekend in the mountains? You'll need to bring ALL YOUR OWN FOOD because there just isn't anywhere to buy things. Period. The cabin we stayed in had two bedrooms that each had two double beds. There was also a loft that the kids loved. After all is said and done, for four hundred bucks, this was a smokin' deal. We had 5 adults in our group so 80 bucks apiece for the weekend is a pretty inexpensive get away.

The big cabins are nice. We go down in the fall and get one of the rustic cabins, they have all you need, they are warm have small burners to cook, fridge, shower. If you go out on the porch at dusk you can watch all the bats fly out of the eves in the attic.(that part did not set well with my wife)[Smile].Cant remember the cost but it was under 100 dollars. We have reservations for 2 weeks already this summer and fall.So many places to go around there to fish,we probobly only fish at fish lake once or twice while we are there, like to go on the scenic byway over to Johnsons,Mill Meadow,Forsyth.Koosherem, and even down to Otter creek, and Piute.Plus there is one special little lake north of there that I wont name that we love.[fishin]
