Nice Timing
#1
Just saw that KLS has posted a link to great locations to ice fish in Utah.

Not that I have any issue with the article, the timing is certainly suspect, as the end of the season is coming to an end in places.

you know these media types don't care where they get their photos from -- a fish is a fish. They could have put a bluefin tuna in the photo and run the same article without batting an eye...

I was thinking the same thing, yes we have perch in Utah but those others look like a type of shad that you might catch back East. Maybe American shad[:/]?

[#0000FF]Those "other" fish look like cisco from the Great Lakes. They also catch big lake whitefish up to six or seven pounds...but not in Utah.

Tweeted at KSL about which lake this photo came from, and was told it was from shutterstock. So it could be from anywhere. I am thinking I'll write an article for KSL online about the great spring fishing in Utah. Of course I won't submit it until late May or June. Still trying to decide if I will put a picture of a Tarpon, or a King salmon with ther article.

There is a place in NY with that name but it appears that it is the name of a web site:

The fish other than the perch is called a roach. I don't even think they are found in the United States....

You can find those in Washington and Colorado now.
