Ice Conditions Last Night -RP, LC and Echo
#1
My wife and I began our search for fishable ice last night and arrived at Rockport about 8pm. There was 2-5 feet of open water around the entire lake. Add a 2-3 more feet to that number before you hit solid ice. I did not bring a 10' plank and slush looked to be at least 6-8" thick on the ice.

We next stopped at Echo, don't know why after reading about Ice condition last week. It appears that Echo is mostly covered with deep water on top the ice.

Last try, Lost Creek! I had never been there and was encouraged as I got closer due to icy road. Hit the parking lot about 11:00pm which was ice covered in about 3" of water. The road across the damn was in good shape, snow was firm and solid. Having never been there I could not find a good way down to the lake in the dark and did not feel like rappelling my sled to the lake unless I knew it was fishable. Edges looked a little soft but the main deck appeared to be in ok shape. No puddles of water anyway.

Thanks for the recon. Its interesting to see how fast the conditions at rockport have deteriorated in less than a week.
