Is there any safe ice near Heber? My sister is in from Tennessee and we really want to hit the ice but this there first time and I don't want to risk it with a plank.

[#800000]Almost ALL the main ice is safe. It's getting to it across the open water edges that is the problem. Strawberry seems to be your best bet right now if you can't handle the open edges, but be prepared for the slush monster of a life time up there. Even a track driven ATV can't handle it. And your looking at standing/walking in up to 12 inches of water on top of the 18 inches of ice. Warm, full rubber boots are the only choice up there right now according to the most recent reports.[/#800000]
