Deer Creek Sunday 2-16
#1
I ask for info, so I will share info.

Planned on the state park. not an option, ice was to far from shore to get on.

Drove past the state park towards Heber and hit the first pull off. brought the ladder down to the shoreline and all 5 in my group got on the ice safely. punched a bunch of hole and fished for an hour. Not a bite. The ice is in my opinion 12 inches and pretty hard ice. Surface ice in soft but the ice was think and hard.

Moved over to the eaast side of the island, punched holes and my buddy caught one right of the bat. 12 incher slimer. next hour not a bite.

At this point I had not seen 1 single fish on the finder and yes I know how to read a finder.

Walked out o the group in the middle of the lake and they said they had caught 1 fish and had been there since midnight.

kept walking to the other side and punched holes, still same ice at about 12 inches. fished about an hour and a half and found the fish, yessssss.

The fish would swim right to my bait and not a gall darn thing. had 10 or 12 fish swim right to my jigs and nothing. tried several different bait and several different trout catching goodies and nothing.

Not a single bite for me. 1 fish in our group of 5. I heard of 2 other total fish being caught.

Pretty lame over all.

Cheers and come open water.
