Shoulda gone catting like I meant to. There's time yet... some folks off to a nice start. Well, folks up north anyway.
Bopped past a few spots - a poke here and there to survey - but no takers. A few of my intended spots were taken, so I moved on. Took the pup to get messy and muddy again.

Pitching some small ice jigs I had rigged, and hooked up a cute little Crappie. Then the bobber took another dive, and this one had some shoulders - Misty was pretty excited to meet a shiny mirror carp.
The next dive revealed a big brown roller, then it popped off. Thought it might have been a toad of a Bass, or maybe a Walleye. Probably just a fat carp, but since I couldn't prove otherwise- I'm going with Walleye! [
] I do dread what a fat nasty carp does to my little jigs. had to convince Misty only a cat is crazy enough to eat Carp. Just gonna have to make bait out of that beast.
Tink Tink Tink - Come and get it - Friskies!

Hooked up a good half dozen Crappie - like I say - where there's one, there's probably a whole school of em. Nothing much for size this day - all in the 10 and under category. They all got to keep swimming, though one that popped off and bounced past Misty almost got chased into the drink! Curious little pup! NO the bobber is NOT a fetch toy! She got awful intent on watching that bobber though!
Had a shrimp slung out on the second pole with drag at nil, but attention deficit me, when I reeled it in, no surprise - long gone. I'll have to stop pandering the panfish, and pay my attentions to proper catting next time out!
