Vernon is full
#1
Took the family up to Vernon reservoir tonight. The water looks great and it is almost full. My daughter caught 1-13 inch tiger which we released to grow up. Not much action on crawlers or a spinner. Did see a few fish surfacing and a couple even jumped chasing bugs. Wish I would of had my fly box and I would of tried a couple behind a bubble. Just thought I'd share what i saw with ya'll. It was a beautiful evening.

Thanks for the response. I like to fish there about once in the spring then the campers show up and ruin it with everything from hollering to gun fire.

I know the feeling. Funny how folks, atleast too many folks, can kinda ruin it some. Between the amount of people, the noise, atvs tearing around and general silliness I have got where I hardly fish up there anymore. And its my backyard and where I ranch. Such is life.

You probably have also fished cherry creek. The fish aren't big but sure fun to catch on a fly. It gets pretty mossy during the summer though. A jakes works pretty good at Vernon too.

Cherry Creek Res is awesome! Just head south from Vernon, as if you were headed to the dunes. It's right next to the road and the rainbows are wild and full of speckles. Beautiful little fish.

My understanding is that those rainbows aren't the only species in there either...

Cherry Creek Res is south of Vernon res up Main canyon and over what we call the Horse Valley summit. It lays at the base of Maple Mnt on its north side. It is actually on private land owned by Frank Vincent but fun fishing.
