Easter Hunting
#1
Started the morning searching for . . . no - not colored eggs (I bought my Cadbury's at the grocery, so it's all good. Goes great with a morning cup of Joe) . . . but Spring Asparagus. But I didn't do so great, found one crunchy stalk, so I'm hopping down the right trail at least.

So the pup and I turned our attentions to Kitties and Carp (well, kitties anyway). She was keen to watch my bobbers, and excited to hear a bell ring, or a carp jump. I was excited when it wasn't HER bumping my rods! Didn't have much for action, so I relocated. Very calm morning on the marsh. At least I caught a sunburn. Misty has become quite the bobber pointer.

After messing with mudders, and watching flocks of fledgling geese-lings the wind had picked up. Was about ready to call it a day and grab some chicken strips for my kid (she doesn't like eggs).
I - as is typical - thought I'd try just one more cast. The wind was pushing my bobber, and then it went down - MIGHTY HOOKSET, and ping - my rig was gone. The toad had wrapped up in some wood (or Lava would claim I had a bad knot). So I reloaded, repitched, and wasn't long before BOBBER DOWN. This time I horsed the beast out from the wood and got her in the open for a fair fight. Hauled in a nice 5lb kitty, and kept my channel streak alive (barely). Not the half dozen or more load ups that some folks have reported, but good enough to complete my day. And as wonder's never cease - there was not one, but TWO red hooks in this babe's lip piercings. Yep the little piggy had come back for seconds.

There you go Jeff, a report. Wish I had more tails to share, but at least I was spared the skunk.
