Hwy 6 Close to Springville
#1
Does anyone else fish off highway 6? I usually go between springville and thistle. Here's a few lil browns I picked up to put in the smoker last week. We only have luck with worms, right off the bottom, with a slow reel in. Thanks for all the updates everyone! Love this forum!

Looks like you got a cutthroat there too. I used to fish down there on occasion when I lived in Springville years ago. I caught some decent ones up to around 18" in the area across from the Diamond Fork on a hopper/dropper with my fly rod. I liked it best in the fall when the water levels were down and the better browns were active.

Fly fishing is my next step I am going to make. I picked up a pretty decent set up from sportsmans but so far have only flipped it around in the yard. Do you know the name of that little river? I've fished it dozens of times but have yet to figure that out.

Down in the canyon there I believe it is the Spanish Fork River. Further up above Thistle I believe it is Soldier Creek.

Fly fishing is a lot of fun, and definitely my favorite way to fish for trout. Keep at it and I think you'll like it.

I commute through that way every week and make it a point to fish somewhere at least once a week. I have caught fish on the Spanish Fork River through there but never in large numbers. I have a few holes where I am fairly successful at pulling 15-18" browns out of every now and then.

Good job on the browns!
