I want to sell my .45 but how do I go about selling it ? I dont want some low life buying it and committing a crime. When I sell it do I have to notify law enforcement ?

Here's form that might help. Make the purchaser show ID and sign. http://www.beararms.com/PDF/FTUP.pdf
Other than running a background check yourself ($25-50) it's about the best you can do.

You must sell it to a Utah resident, have them show I.D, the best you can do to try and avoid selling to a criminal is ask that the buyer have a CCP, that way they have already had a background check done. Private party sales don't require any type of background check. I would have them sign a bill of sale and you don't need to notify law enforcement, guns are not registered in utah.

Never sell, only buy more. If you insist however, you can take it to a gun store and have them do the transfer and charge the buyer for this service. As Remo said a CCW is pretty safe.
