I just saw this on the dwr website:
Fishing has been pretty consistent from boats and from the shoreline. People are still catching rainbows that weigh up to three pounds. Bass fishing has also been good. East Canyon will be stocked with fingerling wipers this week, which should provide good wiper fishing later in the year.

Why not? I love east canyon and i dont see how wipers could hurt the fishery, their a fish you can control and im sure they are putting them in the lake to get rid of some of the fish that were illegally introduced (blue gills, crappie, sm bass) but hey thats just my guess.

There are so many other lakes that could profit from wipers. Cutler in Cache Valley would be great for Wiper or Tiger Musky. Wiper would be nice to try in Yuba. They would be fantastic in Utah lake if it weren't for the Junies. I wonder why they picked East Canyon????

Deeper cooler water = much bigger fish! Plus what was said above about a controllable population.
