Well, last Saturday's coin toss came up Willard Bay. So this trip will be to Cutler and the upper Bear without the need of a coin flip.
I start a 10 day vacation this Thursday, and after I pack the spouse off to SoCal on the big silver bird Thursday nite, I'll have nothing to really worry about other than where to fish each day. Been wanting to get back up to the spot we launched from on the Flotilla earlier this month. Don't think I'll go all the way down to Benson, but maybe up and down river a couple of bends either way. Noticed several possible good prospect holes on a few of those river bends. May not catch anything, but I'll bet there won't be as many bugs and darn few power squadron vessels roaring around. Will keep an eye out on the Carp Hunters though.

If you have a couple days to kill there in your boat you can really do some damage! The cats are frisky and big! From the launch spot where we launched the flotilla, there are a lot of options for multiple species on those woody bends, but don't overlook the main res. for the biggest cats. They're in there!
Good luck

Thanks Mike. I will work Benson on weekday morning some day next week. Maybe fewer carp hunters and ski boats to contend with. But I think I want to go up river a ways from the launch point, then maybe down to the first or second bend. But since I will be leaving my rig at the launch point this time, I'll have to come back to there come time to leave. And can't work everything in one day, learned that on the Flotilla. Lots of places to try out between now and September as long as the water stays deep enough.

Nice - what Mike said. I'd suggest spend a bit of time perusing Googlemaps or Mapquest - you can pick out some target spots where the river connects to back sloughs - I've found those, the deep bends, and the various wood stands good targets. Good magnets for jigs and crank eaters for sure.
Cutler proper seems a bit lower now. But any pockets off the main reservoir are a good place to find kitties hanging.
Have you ever been up the canyon to the dam? If you launch at Cache Junction - go under the bridge, and keep on going. Truly a scenic adventure - the Grand Canyon of Cache Valley - heard it called.
You can go a long ways up-river, even into Idaho - if you have that kind of adventuring, time, and gas!

Let me know when you're on the water I may be able to assist if needed. Have fun. J

Haven't been on the pond for a few days, but my Dad is the river commissioner and he said they are sending more water down, but all the farmers are watering at full tilt so who knows if any will make it to the end of the ditch. Cutler has been quite low so hope we see more flow. I'm sure it will be low flows downstream below the canal outlets. Hope the fish start feeding again for you. Later J
