Strawberry 17 July
#1
First time posting... long time fishing - met DuBob at the cleaning station who encouraged us to get signed up - Thanks DuBob!

Hit the Berry about 8:30 and what beautiful morning it was. Decided to fish the Soldier Creek side and we took our Mom with us from Mesa to see if we could catch some kokes. She remembers catching 8-10" kokes as a youth up on Lake Pend Oreille in N Idaho.

We trolled across from the marina about 500ft from the rocks on the other side. Trolled in a circle that went down closer to the dam then over towards the narrows, back up towards the marina then around again. In all we caught 16 cuts, 3 bows and 9 kokes. Most of the cuts were nice a 17-18", the bows only 10-12" all were released (of course) since we were after kokes. The kokes were all 18-20" and between 1lb 14 oz and 2 lbs 9 oz. Most were caught between 50-55 ft,, 1.3 mph, using a melon squid tipped with maggots behind bahama mama dodger.
Mom now has pictures that will knock her relatives' socks off when she travels to Idaho this Saturday!

Bahama Mama - that's just fun to say. Nice catching on the purdy fine fish. They sure do grow nice down there.

Check on the For Sale board, there was a post about flags, Wiperhunter2 might have some still, but they are ordered in "batches". I think it was $10, 12 to have it personalized.

If you want some BFT stickers I could send some - PM me, and you can send an SASE, I'll fill it up.

As said - great first post, well done.

Welcome to BFT! Great post. On the flags there is a thread on the off topic board as well. There needs to be a minimum order of like 12 or something. I have a stanfing order for three, yours would make it 4. If you would like some stickers in the mean time shoot me a pm with your mailing address amd I will get some out to you.

[font "Comic Sans MS"][#800000][size 3]Welcome! Glad you took the nudge and joined up. I went back over there yesterday AM and tried the same area you talked about and came up empty. I had 5 releases on the riggers at 55 feet, but no fish in the boat. I fished from 7 - 10:30.

I don't have any melon squid but had hits on purple and orange; both behind an RMT BM dodger.

I'll be back up there week after next for 5 days to include the DAV Event.

We are hoping to get back up there the last week of July - probably mid-week. Mom had so much fun, she says she'd like to go one more time before heading back to sunny (hot) AZ. So maybe we'll see you there.

When is the DAV event?
