Moab fishing on the colorado
#1
Hey guy's,I'm here in evanston and heading to moab on thursday with my samurai to do a bit of wheelin for the weekend.Going to be camping in the kane creek area and am interested in doing a little catfishin at camp during the evening's or early morning's between trail time.
All i'm interested in is the colorado for some cat's as I wont have any other time to go to any of the nearby lake's.Anybody have any good tip's or a decent area to try?Sure would like to fry one up at camp for dinner one night,Thank's!

I was down along the Colorado at Westwater thursday and it is running really muddy due to all the rain runoff this past week. Hopefully with the calm it will have time for some of it to settle. Give us a report when you get back and let us know how you did.

Stayed at the king's bottom campground, the first campground on kane creek....Anyway, found a camp spot, unloaded and went to town for some kitty food.Could not find liver so I settled for a package of big prawns.Went back to camp and left them out for the night and the next day to get them spoiled and stinky. When returning to camp after a trail my buddy and I went to the river to see what there was in there.....Took no longer than a couple minute's and the bite was on but seemed like they would drag the bait into brush in the water, then would snag up and lose them.It happened time and time again. At one time we had something big on but it broke the 6lb spiderline.Never did bank any to see what they were but they were hungry every evening.I think where we were fishing was indeed a good place but at the same time was bad due to being in a bend with bush's,stick's and snag's in the water from high water time's.

Next time I'm tryin across the river on a sandy/rocky area i seen.Sure would have been nice to see what broke the line and kept stealin our shrimpies.BTW shrimp left in the sun for 3 day's smell's terrible but man does it attract...

Barely better than a skunking, but next time you'll knock 'em dead!
