Weston ID 9/15/14

Went to Weston for a "fishing fix" in my tube . [] Argued with my self as to whether I take my new pup, 10 mos. with me. Finally decided since I didn't wat to worry about my over friendly golden and shore anglers and first time this year, do a "scouting" mission. Boy, am I glad I left Rusty home. Shore covered with burrs, and down to conservation levels (?) or lower??? Figured out that the smart thing was to fish by the damn because of extremely low water. Started at about 1pm and quit at 4pm. The old guy just got tired pushing his tube. [frown]
Anyway, caught 6 LM in the 12-14" range and 2 trout. Lost the biggest trout I have ever had on my line. I actually thought that it may be a Tiger in Weston??? [laugh] Fought him for a good while, tried to tire him out since no net, etc. Wasn't sure if I could even get him my fish bag, that big! Well, got him to the tube and tried to hand land him but flipped off. [frown][frown] Used my standard reaper.
All in all, good trip for 3 hrs. Noticed that I don't last as long as I used to. Started to get leg cramps. [frown]

Thanks for the report Fred, we don't get many from there. Sounds like a good day for only being there 3 hours.

Glad you made it out for some bass action before the cold comes.

The crazy thing is that it's actually up about three feet from its lowest about a month ago. At one point it was tough to find anything deeper than about five feet in the whole reservoir.

There are definitely some beastly trout in there. I've caught them up to around 2', but I know there are some bigger ones in there. Plus they're freaking footballs []

I fished that place every day when I lived up there, fun little pond. Definitely some big fish in there if you can find them. Sounds like you need an electric motor for that thing. No fun when you have to work while fishing!

Success is giving me problems. I want to go again and want to take Rusty risking the burrs.[:/] The burrs are low and higher up on the bank, I guess I could always spend the time getting them out. [frown] Just wining, had sooooooo much fun but missed Rusty. [frown]

I thought they didn't allow float tubes up there but for some reason pontoons are ok? Yes/No? That sign they have up there is confusing...

Other way around. Float tubes are kosher, but anything else, including pontoons, are not.
