Trout fishing at Quail Creek Reservoir
#1
Anybody been out to Quail Creek fishing for trout? Or is it still too warm? I may go out there while the marathon is going on in early October.

I took my kid and his friend out there this last weekend and we caught one trolling around 40 feet deep. We tried power bait for a while and caught nothing then tried our luck for bass and couldn't find any of those either. I think the fish and game plants rainbows in the next month, should be good trolling and bait fishing after that i would think.

That was my experience last year in Oct. I only caught one trout and fished for 4 hours. That lake can be brutal on the ego this time of year. It always seems to pick up in November or when they stock it with trout. One time all I did was take pictures cause nothing was biting. I think I'm going to head up to Newcastle Reservoir instead of Quail.
I may go bike riding instead of fishing on Saturday.
