Pineview Port Ramp Launch is now free
#1
[#800000]Today was the last day that AL&L collected fees to launch a boat at the Pineview Port Ramp. Effective tomorrow, September 29, 2014 you can launch any watercraft for free. I also understand that the crappie fishing is going gangbusters on Pineview right now but have not verified that myself.[/#800000]

Yep, crappie stacked from 12-18ft used a drop shot Monday. Gulp minnow down by the dam or up the middle arm. They were biting as fast as you could get it down. No size to them all about 8-10". They didn't charge last monday either for launching.

Which one is the Port Ramp - over at the west side?

Yup. Port Ramp is the west side. All three ramps are controlled by the same contractor, so they all should be free now - but I don't know if the city still charges that $5 toll to use the Cemetery Point road.

Ran up there this afternoon to make a few casts and check out the Port Ramp.

Yes, the ramp is now free to launch. The crew there is doing work to pull the docks and so the ramp might be congested with their trucks and cranes and such for the next 30 days. But it is open and free.

I got only a couple of bumps fishing from the dock, but watched a boater land what looked like a 16" or so smallie. Released after photos taken.

I left when the sky got darker than the inside of an Angus steer and expected it to be pouring back in Ogden. Nope. Nada. It figures.

Was getting a late start with my toon, when I got the pleasure to meet RR on the ramp. Got over to Browning Point before the wind kicked up and the sky got darker. Did get a hook up, thought it was a musky, but it was only a large carp, still a lot of fun to reel in.
