[#800000]Birch Creek is not shown on the WIA map as a WIA property but may have been entered in the program recently and the map has not been update to reflect that. Anybody wanting to use or enter a WIA property anywhere in the state MUST register with the state to get an authorization certificate/number. This can be done on-line and the certificate should be printed out and kept on your person when using a WIA area. As already stated, the process is FREE. If you don't register and have the pass with you, you could be asked to leave the property or possibly be given a citation for trespassing.[/#800000]

[#800000]The dam end (east side) of Birch Creek is BLM land and maybe 2/3 or more of the reservoir on the west side is private property and I'm guessing has been entered into the WIA program and this is why you now need the WIA pass to fish there.[/#800000]
