I had the pleasure of fishing with Cole and his dad on Saturday, and from the get go, Cole was nailing those speckled trout. We were fishing mostly plastic in the beginning, and then to get on the redfish bite, we started with dead shrimp.
We only needed 3 more redfish, and when one came up and bit the cork, but passed on the shrimp, I knew we needed another plan. I saw a bunch of finger mullets swimming right next to the boat, so I threw the cast net over them, and 3 mullets later and we were limited on reds, with a few flounders and about 7 nice trout.
This is when they told me there was a "Big Fish" bet with the other boat, for $20.00 and that Cole has never landed a Bull Red!!!
We ran for about 5 miles to my secret Bull Red spot, the water was dirty, but we had finger mullets, and don't you know it, the big fish bit on Cole's line again.
