Fish Lake update?

I was trying to plan a fishing trip this weekend and I would like to catch a lake trout so I was thinking of fish lake but can anyone give me an update on how the fishing is going up there?

....the lake was recently stocked with small rainbows, so any post spawn lake trout could be feeding on the rainbow train! The fishing is always good at Fish Lake....the catching, though, can be tough.

I will be going out in a boat but I am not sure how to rig up my gear to catch a lake trout.

Any ideas?

Wind some mono on your reel. Tie a swivel to the end of your line. Snap a jigging spoon to the swivel. Tip the spoon with some carp / sucker / chub / perch. Drop the line to the bottom. Reel up two reels. Lift your rod up and down.


Alternative methods may include:
A. tie a large rapala, crankbait, etc. to your line. Throw it out. Start your motor and put it in gear. Drive in circles.

B. Tie a catfish hook to your line. thread a whole shiner on the hook. Drop hook and shiner to bottom. You may need to add a weight to your line to get it to sink.
