Headed up on the wife's annual elk hunt (aka my duck hunt) last week and Brrrrrrrr was it cold!
Not as many fowls as I'd hoped with the big cold front up north, but I did get into a few of them. Scratched down a few mallards and failed a couple stalks on geese but I was still enjoying myself.
Found a pond that had 30 or so geese on it plus a tall berm between me and them. Sweet. Crawled down a ditch to get low enough and then walked right up the berm and caught them flat footed at 40 yards! Two geese died before they had a chance to fly, two more went down in the following seconds! Wahoo! Why can't goose hunting always be that easy? Cheese-it breaded goose at camp that night!
