Cisco Disco Dissappointment-Chesterfield
#1
The 8-track was playing and the people were there but it ended up being a bunch of guys standing in the cold holding their rods.

The fish were definitely not in with the kind of numbers to justify a celebration...but I don't see how the organizers had any choice in the matter. I spoke with an ID F&G officer and he told me that they had been out the last few days attempting to catch the little guys from boat just to have enough to do the fish fry (knowing that the netters were going to have a difficult time). It is impossible to predict such a thing and advertise it without a crystal ball. I love Bear Lake and am glad that such good numbers showed up, regardless of the result. Such is fishing.

I wish I was able to get up mid-week when the numbers are sure to be better. Next weekend I am on the hook to take my daughter to comicon, so barring a sick day my chances to net a few are done.

Having seen what a true cisco run looks like, we did not waste too much time trying to net the ghost and decided our time would be better spent fishing Chesterfield from the hard deck. We hit the reservoir in early afternoon and stayed until about 4pm. We fished just south of the boat ramp in about 20' of water before moving shallower into about 8-10'. The move did wonders and we were hitting fish fairly constantly. We managed to catch a decent 14"er, but the rest were all of the planter variety.
I have been very happy with the Jaw Jackers ability to hook up fish. I think the days of big chunkers at Chesty is gone. Sorry no pics.
