I called Deer Creek State Park the other day and was told that the ramps are closed. The number is 435-654-0171. I didn't ask, but I suspect they might not want to have to decontaminate the boats. If you find out differently, please post, especially if you get out there and fish.

I am planning a Saturday trip because I heard the ramps opened last week (I heard that here).
I will be checking today and report back. [signature]

As we have learned, they may have found quagga mussel veligers in Deer Creek. They are investigating and plan to take more water samples. Until they know for sure, they closed the ramps as a precaution.
I don't know what the status of the investigation is at this moment, but I think it would be wise to not fish Deer Creek until they either determine there's no danger or they get decontamination units in place there. It isn't as though DC is the only lake in Utah. [signature]

The regulators have had a couple of years to plan for what was surely going to happen.
The solution at Powell or Mead was not to close the lake to watercraft. A wash station has been at the Main ramp of deer creek for more that a year maybe they should finally buy some fuel for it and be expected to use it. . [signature]

From checking the live lake view camera this morning it looks like the island bay ramp still has a closed sign and snow bank at the top of the ramp. Last Saturday I believe the main marina ramp was open and there were a few boats on the water. The DWR guys were putting pamphlets with decontamination info on cars parked in the lots. I didn't speak with them but they did seem to be making the rounds to the different ramps sites to get people informed.

When I called about two weeks ago there was going to be someone onsite to clean our boats the day we were thinking of going, that was according to the lady I talked to at the main marina. Their recording today said the main ramp is open, and the island ramp is closed until further notice. If you put a boat on you have to have it cleaned after, or drain ,and dry for 30 days before putting on another body of water. [signature]

I drove up to the main ramp Wednesday afternoon to have a look-see. There was one boat trailer in the lot, but most fishermen would be off the lake by the time I was there about 4. The ramp is certainly open and useable, but the only dock is a little thing in shallow water, so launching alone might be tricky. There wasn't a soul around to talk to about decon etc.

Went today. Weather was great. Fishing okay. Caught six on assorted brown rapalas fished shallow. Saw people soaking powerbait catch a few on the shore. I wonder if the fishing is better at night. I cruised up by the dam to try that. The bouy line seemed like a good spot to troll. Had some bites there. For the life of me I wonder why the line is so far back. Most people seemed to ignore it.

TT, I saw a few people on toons around the island area. Did you check out that area as well or just launch from the main ramp and stay around there? It looked like a really nice day from what I could see from the lake view camera. Glad you were able to get a few..
