Huntington North 03/07/2015
#1
Made a quick trip to Huntington North on Saturday to try out my new float tube. The weather was great! Just a little wind, but it didn't create many difficulties. I was mostly just trying to figure out the whole "float tube" thing. Ya'know turning and moving around in the water. I can tell that it is going to be AWESOME though!
Fishing was slow. I mostly just drug a night crawler around and occasionally threw a spoon or Rapala. I had one bite on a night crawler that I hooked on to, but lost it at the tube. Just a little 14 in rainbow. Great day out on the water and looking forward to many more in the tube.

Nice! Just wait until you keep a fish on the line! That can be a little hectic for a tube noob.

You have found the reason why we tubers/tooners stay with the craft. It is awesome![Smile]

Welcome to the forum and thanks for the report.

It's nice to see someone besides me post a report for HN.

You are going to get hooked on float tube fishing. It takes a little time but a tube can get you to many places you can't take a boat or fish from shore.

A friend and me are going to give HN a try tomorrow so I'll post a report. The last time over there we did not do that well either.

I need to make a map of that res and put areas with different structure and strata on it. When I went there last I traveled from the marina down along the dam then over across from the launch ramp. From there I cut across the res back to the ramp. Now to go and explore the north end.
